Molas are a traditional art form created by the Kuna Indians who are an indigenous group of people found in the Uraba Region of Colombia.
This region is located along the coastal strip of the Atlantic Ocean that connects Colombia to Panama in South America. |

Kuna women traditionally wear the Mola as panels on the front and rear of their blouses.
Using a "reverse appliqué" technique, Molas are created from fabrics of different colours that are cut and sewn to form beautiful geometric, zoomorphic and tribal symbols with cultural and religious meanings. |
|
There is no mass manufacturing involved in the production of a Mola. Molas are unique - the concept of each is fully conceived by the artist, who not only sews the piece but also designs it. |

Every Mola we sell is a one-of-a-kind, genuine and authentic piece of art.
